Kenny Ferguston is the Director of IT at NC State University Friday Institute. In this role he manages the IT budgeting and procurement for the organization, ensuring compliance with the university’s best practices and meeting the needs of the staff. He also serves on the leadership team and acts as a liaison to the university’s Office of Information Technology, fostering collaboration and communication across departments and units.

With 14 years of experience in physical security, law enforcement, and operational management, he has a proven knowledge of advanced technology, data communications, and desktop technology. He also has a strong background in web development and educational technology, as he supervises IT and web development employees and contractors, and moderates and manages systems and programs for research and innovation, such as JAMF Pro, Moodle, Active Directory, AWS, and Azure. Kenny’s goal is to leverage his skills and credentials to support the Friday Institute’s mission of advancing education through innovation.
