Traditionally, security teams were built to be reactive and only focus on production environments. When Log4j emerged, many organizations were caught “flying blind”, hoping that they could protect their applications with their traditional perimeter defense. Modern applications are extremely hard to secure because, in the cloud, the apps are no longer behind a firewall, but rather connected to services potentially everywhere. As a result, security at the gate is simply not enough, now we need visibility of what we have, how it is behaving, and how it is being used or abused. We need visibility with the context of the application in order to protect the business from emerging threats like Log4J and others.
In this session you’ll learn:
- How applications have changed and why we need to rethink application security
- How APIs are the key to security in the future
- How application security requires close collaboration across dev, sec, and ops

Identity sits at the intersection of convenience, privacy, and security. From improving customer experiences, to ensuring secure authentication flows that protect customer data – today’s login box must find the right balance between user convenience, security, and privacy.
We believe that the companies that will succeed in the next five years will be the ones best-equipped to balance the ever-growing customer expectations of these attributes One of the key changes on the horizon that will impact these attributes is loginless authentication.
In the near future, traditional logins will no longer be the dominant form of access. Today’s ubiquitous login boxes, with their user ID and password fields, will be replaced with user-centric systems that favor convenience (without sacrificing security or privacy) and that are built on trust.
However, this journey to loginless can be fraught with complications, unknowns, and misconceptions.
Join us in this session to discuss and explore:
- The most common misconceptions when it comes to authentication and loginless
- How you can prepare your business today for the loginless future of tomorrow
