Rohit de Souza most recently, until October 2020, served as the President and Chief Executive Officer at Actian Corporation, a position he held since October 2016. At Actian, Rohit oversaw the transformation of this global private equity backed organization, serving over 3,000 customers worldwide – including 24 of the Fortune 100, bringing a unified approach to the next generation of hybrid data management. Rohit drove and oversaw the acquisition of Actian, by HCL Technologies, a $10 billion global technology and services firm, in July 2018, and continued thereafter to steer its revenue and profitability growth in a dynamic global market.

Prior to his appointment at Actian, Rohit held the president and acting CEO position at Beyondcore, where he led the Great Point Ventures investment in this Analytics and Smart Data Discovery firm. He refocused its product and go-to-market strategy and drove the acquisition of the company by Salesforce in August 2016.

Prior to BeyondCore, he served as vice president and general manager of Hewlett Packard (HP) Software’s Big Data/ Information Analytics group responsible for the business worldwide. At HP, he also served as the vice president and general manager of HP’s Retail Publishing Solutions within the Imaging and Printing Business. Here, he led a team that was responsible for hardware, software and web services development, deployment, operations, sales, and support for HP’s retail customers worldwide. The business grew significantly on his watch, and HP successfully displaced Kodak and Fuji in key retail customers worldwide.

Prior to HP, de Souza had over 20 years of blue chip, strategic technology and change management experience, having driven results at both large enterprise technology companies and smaller, early-stage ventures in a global context. Prior to joining HP, de Souza served as chief executive of a private equity backed venture to assemble and operate a global engineering services company. He also held senior management roles at Thrasys (a joint venture with Siemens), Siebel Systems and SAP A.G., and was responsible for building and expanding the global applications business at Oracle corporation.

De Souza also spent eight years at Booz Allen & Hamilton Inc., a strategic management consulting firm, providing operations strategy and transformation management consulting to global clients. He began his career at Intel Corporation and spent six years in a series of strategic planning and controller positions in the Components Technology and Manufacturing Group.

De Souza holds dual Masters degrees in engineering from the University of California at Berkeley and an undergraduate degree in engineering from Madras University in India.

Where is the event taking place?

The event is by invitation-only. The location will be released to all attendees once your registration has been confirmed. 

What is the dress code?

We recommend business attire. Most attendees wear suits or comparable attire. Ties are optional.

Can I bring a colleague with me?

Yes! We always urge our members to refer their colleagues! We love adding new members to the community, especially if they come highly recommended by a current member. Either have them reach out to your Apex POC or have them fill out the Member Registration Form.

What if I have dietary restrictions?

No problem! Please let your Apex POC know as soon as possible in order for us to work with the venue on providing alternate options for you at the event.

What if I want to speak at an assembly?

Apex is always looking for speakers that can contribute their valuable insight. If you would like to speak, please contact your Apex POC or fill out the Speaker Registration Form on the Assemblies page. Please keep in mind that we receive many inquiries for speaking and sessions are available on a first come first served basis. But no need to worry, we have plenty of opportunities available at future assemblies.

I plan on being in attendance, but what if something comes up and I have to cancel?

We understand that something may come up on your calendar! Before canceling with us, please know that we will have a separate room for attendees to step out for work-related activities (meetings, emails, conference calls, etc.). If you must cancel, we just ask that you let us know at least 48 hours in advance so that we can open up the waitlist for another member.
